FYI: Don't be enticed by the guys that have television commercials running 24/7... you don't want to be among the others that are helping them to pay for these expensive productions, think about it. How can all of these dirt cheap deals fund all of these commercials?
As some of us know, most people assume that just because a company has a big showroom / warehouse and put on a big production they must know what they are doing... well the truth of this is that the people that own the establishment do know what they are doing when it comes to taking your money. Aside from this fact the guys that you may find out in your backyard may not even have a clue as to what they are doing. These big name companies sell lots and lots of swimming pools and will employee any willing party to help get them built. Usually the big name companies will require the subcontractor to pay them a $2000.00 deposit in order to work for them. This helps to cover the mistakes that these individuals usually make. We have been building swimming pools for almost 30 years and I can testify to the fact that it is extremely hard to find any qualified help when it comes to swimming pool construction. I can only imagine where they find these guys... they could be the same bunch that used to mow your yard a few summers ago! I do not want to be the one that has to tell you "I told you so".
With that said I will continue...
Before selecting a pool company or one of those large pool outlets make sure that you have the vital information necessary to make a good selection. Many of these companies only use fly by night personnel or subcontractors to actually build the pools. Many times these people do not have the adequate experience necessary to build swimming pools. A swimming pool is an addition to your home, and just as permanent as your home is. You want the best job that you can get for your investment so make sure that you are getting professional pool builders to build your pool... not some guys that are just out to make a fast buck. You should commonly expect to have to wait a reasonable amount of time before the company is available to begin construction on your pool. Most reputable pool companies have a list of other people waiting for their pool. Ask for a contact list of other people the company has done business with. They should be happy to provide you with one. Do not go with a company based only on the cheapest price or how fast they say they will begin construction. This WILL cost you much more in the long run. We highly recommend for you to check with the Better Business Bureau online to see a report on particular pool company. While this very well may not be a definitive indication of a companies track record, it can alert you of undesirable company practices.
Most pool stores often rely on an outside source to build that pool. This means that you are not only paying for what the pool should cost to have built, but a markup on; the pool materials, the profit and overhead of the pool store, and the costs of what they have to pay out to subcontractors to actually build the pool. Don't be fooled by the ones that tell you "sure we do it all ourselves" and then find out down the road that they seem to only appear when it is time for a progress payment. Common sense can tell you that a person cannot be in the store selling goods and out on your jobsite building your pool at the same time.

- Pool Wall Installation
- Our use of laser equipment enables us to quickly set your pool walls with excellent results every time
- Building freeform and custom pool shapes are our specialty. We have advanced mobile computers that we rely on to give us absolute coordinates for any point along the pool walls. When a wall manufacturer builds special panels for a given pool , they don't always bolt together 100% mathematically correct. With our advanced CAD expertise we are able to plot out wall locations as they should be and know exactly when their is some discrepancy in alignment. This can pay off big time when it comes to ordering your pool liner and obtaining a perfect fit.
- We use high quality G-235 steel from the industry leader Cardinal Systems for our vinyl liner pools. We do not install polymer walls due to issues that we see with compaction of backfill material. With our personal experience, we have noted far more plumbing faults from builders that used polymer pool walls than any other pool wall method. It is our opinion that the polymer walls cannot withstand the pressures exerted against the walls while achieving adequate compaction.
- After your pool walls are set in place we pour concrete as a collar around the bottom of the walls to lock the steel permanently into place
- Plumbing System
- We take special care in the installation of the plumbing lines for your pool. This is the number one failure in improperly built pools
- Since we only use compacted rock as backfill you will never have to worry about broken plumbing lines due to settlement
- We only use high quality PVC pipe and pressure rated fittings in your plumbing system
- Pool Bottom Finish
- This is one of the hardest tasks involved with installing a quality pool. I have often said that if it was not for this part everyone would be pool contractors!
- We only use POOL-Crete and never sand for our pool bottoms. It is the superior material for this purpose and we are experts in its installation
- POOL-Crete also provides your pool with excellent insulation properties so that your pool will retain its water temperature more efficiently
- Since it is a non-adbrasive material it will not harm your liner
- Vinyl Liners
- We only use quality liners from the industry leaders Merlin, Tara MFG. and Vyn-all Corp
- We custom fit the liner for each pool we build
- Multiple designs are available for your approval
- Shotcrete / Gunite / Concrete both commercial and residential pools
- We use a wet process to spray concrete called shotcrete for most of our concrete pools and spas. Shotcrete and Gunite are both a process of spraying concrete. The term Gunite which is often used wrongly used to describe a pool is a dry process shotcrete that produces alot of rebound concrete and needs to be removed from the work area. The end result of both the Shotcrete and Gunite process is Concrete. The process of spaying concrete properly results in a concrete that is far superior to poured concrete because of the complete displacement of voids. Or mixes typically have a 5500 psi rating or better. Concrete pools will always have to be finished with a material such as plaster, tile or paint to have the ability to properly hold water. We own our shotcrete equipment so we don't have to worry with shotcrete or gunite contractors to work us into their schedule.
- We have a mobile shotcrete mixer that we can use to batch our shotcrete from raw materials on site. This keeps our crew working without the need of having concrete trucks on the site.
- Since we do the shotcrete work ourselves, we have the ability to be very creative without relating our designs to another contractor.

Pool Pricing What will it cost for my swimming pool?
"Some Pool Company gave me this really cheap qoute for a Pool" you may say...
Reason #1 for cheap pool quotes: the pool builder does not have very much experience and wants to sell you a pool any way that he can. Result: poorly constructed swimming pool.
Reason #2 for cheap pool quotes: the pool builder deals in great volume and will employ any personnel that he can find to help build all of the pools he has sold. Result: poorly constructed swimming pool.
It takes many years of hands-on swimming pool construction to develop the experience necessary to build quality pools time after time. This is experience that is not going to happen in just a few years time. When it comes to building swimming pools alot of common practice in general building just fly out the window. For instance, you can take the best concrete finisher around and ask him to pour a pool deck... if he has not had experience with pools before it often turns to be an unsightly mess. We have seen this time and time again from inexperienced pool builders and home owners that attempt to build their own pool.
While we feel that our pricing for swimming pools is always fair, many things have to be considered for each individual pool project. Things like poor access for storing materials like excess dirt and crushed stone used for building the pool are items that we have to take into consideration when quoting your pool. Sometimes we see job sites that have extremely limited access for trucks and equiptment to building the pool. We can usually overcome these hurdles in order to build the pool but it does take much more time and will involve addition costs to us to complete the project. Our many years of experience helps us to know just what it takes to quote a pool with these circumstances.
We offer complete residential vinyl liner swimming pools starting at around $25,000.00. The typical price range that many of our customers will fall into is from $25,000 to $45,000 for a complete pool. Custom vinyl liner swimming pools will usually start at around $45.000 and can go as high as $150,000. These prices are typical for vinyl liner swimming pools, shotcrete pool prices will start at around $45,000.00. Negative Edge pool designs can be some of the most expensive overall. For basic shotcrete pools with straight walls the average price is around $450.00 per linear foot of pool perimeter or $475 per ln. ft. for curved wall and free form shapes. This pricing includes the standard plaster interior finish, standard pool coping, tile boarder and the standard pump and filter configuration based on the pool size. Decking and other options are in addition to this pricing. Site conditions and obstructions can add to the basic pool cost. Shotcrete pools with designer pavers and custom interior finishes are somewhat higher in pricing than the vinyl liner pool. Our Composite Pools are a great alterative to the high end look of a shotcrete pool. The price for the composite pool will be more than the vinyl liner pool but far less than the shotcrete pool.
The market for custom pools has gained great momentum in recent years. These days we have many automobiles starting at $50,000 and while they provide nice transportation for a few years, they cannot provide the ongoing value and appeal of a custom pool environment. Many people can enjoy being entertained with a pool setting. Pools bring family and friends closer together and can give you a relaxing sense of inner peace while enjoying your pool alone.
A general rule is to never spend more than 20% of the value of your home on a swimming pool. This is sound advice that we would highly endorse. We feel that when considering a custom swimming pool the home and pool should compliment each other. When designing pools we take the architecture of the home into consideration and compliment the homes values in the pool setting. This unique vision that we have enables us to produce outstanding achievements in pool design.
Steel walls and a vinyl liner is a popular method of pool construction because of the lower cost of pool ownership. Shotcrete Pools, Composite Pools and Vinyl Liner Pools all will endure the test of time but the shotcrete pool is without doubt the most permanent pool structure. In a way it can be compared to home construction, you can build a less expensive vinyl sided home in comparison to a home with poured concrete walls and a masonry exterior finish... no point here in debating which will last longer. Sometimes it is necessary for us to build with shotcrete because of the design. Whatever we feel is necessary for a quality pool is what we will convey to you... that is the way we do business.
