Negative Edge Pool Design
I have written a new book titled "The Ultimate Guide To Vanishing Edge Pool Construction" a must have guide for any pool builder.
This e-book (electronic book) gives the reader an in-depth knowledge of the complete mechanics and process of designing vanishing edge swimming pools as well as the hydraulic functions of all other types of pools. This informative book will give anyone the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve optimum results from their vanishing edge pool design and will also be useful for designing other types of water features. Information is provided for gunite and vinyl liner pools.
Custom programmed integrated javascript calculators are included for finding Total Dynamic Head, Velocity of water flowing in the plumbing, Correct Pipe Sizing, Flow Rate, a Weir Calculator to estimate water flow in gpm over the weir and a Vortex Calculator to estimate the water level in the catch pool before pump vortexing will take place. You will not find my collection of calculators for the pool industry anywhere else but here! My unique calculators alone would be well worth the $79.95 purchase price of this software. These are the very calculators that you should be using every day.
The Book is electronic (e-book) so these wonderful timesaving calculators run right from the e-book. In the e-book I take time to instruct you how to use the calculators to get the important data that you need. I have included clear CAD drawings that illustrate a complete vanishing edge pool design along with a data table and teach you how all of this important data comes into play.
You can purchase this e-book right now and it will be digitally delivered within minutes. This is a totally automated service that is available 24/7. After you check out you will receive a link to the download page. You will get an installation file that is around 4mb. Simply run it just like any other Windows software to install the e-book. I am sure that you will be amazed by the usefulness of the e-book.
Other professionals only offer seminars on this information and charge hundreds of dollars to attend, not to mention travel and lodging expenses. You may also get some audio tapes and a lot of photos but this just does not make for a simple to use reference and they don't supply these easy to use calculators. The e-book is priced at only $79.95 and will save you thousands of dollars and a great deal of headache! Since the e-book is actually software, it is so easy to get to the important information that you need. You will probably find yourself using this new information that you will learn and the calculators on an every day basis.
Whether you are a professional pool builder, landscape architect or a weekend warrior you need to know and understand this extremely important information before you attempt to build a vanishing edge pool. This e-book is just like taking a course in advanced pool hydraulics.
If you have searched everywhere for information on negative edge pools, buy this book, it will make the difference.

Comments that I have received about the book:
Anthony,
I really like your book I purchased. The calculators are well worth the money as well as the information, and I especially like the ant-vortex calculator. It is true how there is a "lack of information" out there. I too am a designer, and have been compiling information for some time and wish there was a one stop shop.
Thank you again for the information.

The "Negative Edge" concept has brought a whole new vision to pool design. This dramatic effect can bring out the best in any scenic backdrop. The most common setting for the negative edge pool design is set with a body of water in the background. This can create the illusion that the body of water blends right in with the pool.
While anyone can easily realize the beauty of a negative edge pool, many things must be considered before deciding to take the plunge. An extreme amount of planning is involved in the negative edge design. Vantage point is a key element among the first things to consider. The water is elevated in the pool during operation of the negative edge effect and as a result the water flows over a weir wall and into a catch pool. In consideration of the vantage point, you should not be able to see anything that would obstruct the effect of the negative edge. The catch pool has to be large enough to hold the water to elevate the water level in the pool and at the same time having the capacity to accept the surge from bather load as well as rainfall. We design each negative edge pool based on multiple calculations in order to insure that the capacity of our catch pool will be adequate. The catch pool will typically need to be as wide as the difference in elevation from the negative edge to the top of the catch pool. We like to use a flooded pump for our edge effect so this will need to be located close to the catch pool. So as you can see the catch pool and other items should not be visible from our vantage point.
We use AutoCAD to design each pool that we build. The intelligent use of tables aid in resolving data as our design is in development. As our design changes the data is updated to reflect the changes. Along with AutoCAD we use multiple Java based engineering app's to solve the equations of flow rates and water in transit which is the water moving from the pool over the weir. When we quote your Negative Edge swimming pool, we know exactly what we a pricing unlike other companies that may just guess at the whole thing.
Negative Edge pools will require far more money to build than a typical pool of similar design. With the addition of the catch pool, plumbing, electrical, the weir wall design and additional engineering, costs elevate quickly. The Negative Edge pool is a beauty, but at a price.
We have only touched the high points of the Negative Edge design in this article. We have the skill and the knowledge in the mechanics involved with this design and are highly qualified to give you the best design possible for your money. If you feel that the Negative Edge is the pool for you then please contact us for a formal design and quotation.
